The opportunity
As a Senior Game Design Consultant, you will leverage your extensive experience to lead clients in elevating their games’ KPIs through expert guidance and strategic recommendations. You will engage in a diverse range of responsibilities, from conducting in-depth game audits and shaping innovative design strategies to transforming game data into actionable insights. You will also play a key role in refining our consulting services, ensuring we deliver best-in-class support to our clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead Client Engagements: Partner with clients to provide advanced, tailored advice that improves game design, monetization, and player engagement.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Game Audits: Oversee game teardowns, evaluating game mechanics, monetization strategies, and retention features, and providing actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate with Analysts and Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Unity analysts to develop data-informed game design strategies.
  • Deliver High-Impact Presentations: Create and present detailed reports and recommendations to clients, highlighting findings and suggested improvements.
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends: Continuously monitor gaming market trends, player preferences, and emerging technologies, integrating these insights into client recommendations and team discussions.
  • Contribute to Thought Leadership: Occasionally we speak at events and write blogs, articles, and other industry-related content to share insights and establish thought leadership within the gaming community.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive Experience in Game Design: Proven track record in senior game design roles, with a strong understanding of free-to-play models, ad-based monetization, and live-ops.
  • Expertise in Data-Driven Design: Skilled at interpreting data and using insights to guide design decisions.
  • Exceptional Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to clearly convey complex ideas and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Analytical and Strategic Thinking Abilities: Deep understanding of game economy design, player engagement, and monetization strategies, with a focus on maximizing both player experience and revenue.
  • Proven Leadership Skills: Experience managing client relationships and navigating challenging situations with diplomacy.

You might also have

  • Knowledge of UI/UX and Accessibility Best Practices: Familiarity with designing user-friendly and accessible game interfaces.
  • Experience with Advanced Analytics Tools: Proficiency in using analytics software and tools to interpret game data and support recommendations.
  • Familiarity with a Variety of Game Genres: Versatile design skill set that can be applied across different types of mobile game genres.
