As a Business Accounting Senior Manager at Global, you will:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team (40%): Lead and manage the Business Accounting team to deliver timely, accurate and compliant management and financial accounting outputs, setting clear performance objectives and taking corrective action where required.
  • Month-end reporting and control (30%): Hold the team to strict month-end timelines, producing robust accruals and provisions calculations, divisional P&Ls and variance analysis against forecast and prior periods, in full compliance with Group Accounting Policy and UK GAAP.
  • Simplify, standardise and automate (20%): Improve the Finance Reporting Hub delivery model, automating Record to Report with the business, Commercial Finance, Group Finance and IT.
  • Service and stakeholder management (10%): Deliver Finance Reporting Hub services to agreed service levels, resolving issues proactively and promoting a right-first-time culture through a disciplined control framework.

What You’ll Love About This Role

Think Big: Shape a brand-new Financial Reporting Team and how it works.

Own It: Bring your own ideas forward and see them implemented across the Group.

Keep it Simple: Strip out complexity by standardising and automating Record to Report.

Better Together: Work with a hard-working wider finance team to meet the reporting challenges we face.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Built strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the finance team.

  • Developed a detailed understanding of the business, its intricacies and challenges.

  • Identified improvements and better ways of working, and built a plan to deliver them.

  • Embraced Global’s brands, values and behaviours, and our passion for the business.

What You’ll Need

  • Qualification: Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven post-qualification experience in a relevant accounting or control role.
  • Leadership: Experience leading and developing finance teams within a complex, multi-business organisation.
  • Balance: The ability to balance control and commercial needs, with strong communication and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Systems and improvement: A good understanding of finance systems, data flows and integrations, and a clear view of “what good looks like”.
  • Coaching and Development: Nurturing talent by empowering and guiding individuals to unlock their potential.
  • Building Trust: Creating and maintaining an inclusive environment where diverse views and experiences are welcomed and celebrated in your team.
