More about the role

This is a pivotal, high-profile role for a finance leader to drive significant change and growth within Morrisons' Wholesale division. You'll lead the wholesale finance team and have full end-to-end P&L responsibility for all Wholesale channels.


You'll be a trusted strategic business partner to senior leaders, translating financial insights into actionable strategies that drive sustainable growth and profitability. 


Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading Change & Development: You'll be the financial lead on key projects that are aimed in transforming the convenience and wholesale businesses. 
  • Driving Profitability & Strategic Insight: You'll lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for all wholesale sales channels and operational costs. You'll also provide robust financial analysis and challenge to optimise profitability. The role is key to helping the business achieve its budget.
  • Optimising Strategic Investments: You'll lead the financial appraisal of multiple high-impact strategic investments, such as new store partnerships and technology platforms, ensuring their financial viability.

More about you   

We need an experienced, proactive finance leader with a professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA, or ACCA. More importantly, we're looking for someone who has a proven track record of leading a team and driving significant business change projects in a large, complex organisation.


You'll also bring:

  • Strong Leadership Skills: The ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team and to build a common purpose across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional Analytical Thinking: The capability to turn complex financial data into actionable insights and provide robust financial challenges.

  • Resilience & Adaptability: Experience delivering in a complex, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
