What You'll Do
As a Senior Manager, Engineering, you will lead, grow, and inspire one or more teams of high-performing engineers who are redefining what is possible for developers on Cloudflare's platform. You will be responsible for the execution and delivery of industry-leading products that form the core of Cloudflare's developer offerings. We don't just replicate existing solutions; we innovate by working backward from developer needs, and you will guide your teams to imagine and build these new solutions by leveraging our unique global network.
In this role, you will:

• Lead, Mentor, and Grow Teams: Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and inclusivity while leading, mentoring, and developing talented engineers.
• Recruit World-Class Talent: Build a diverse and high-performing organization by recruiting and developing top-tier engineering talent.
• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to set technical direction, architect innovative solutions, and ensure your teams deliver high-impact results.
• Drive Product Execution: Oversee the execution and delivery of a critical product portfolio that includes R2, Durable Objects, Vectorize, Hyperdrive, Queues, and our evolving Data Platform.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Work across functions and teams to align on strategy, manage dependencies, and deliver on a shared vision for Cloudflare's comprehensive storage and database offerings.

What You Bring
We are looking for an experienced engineering leader passionate about building foundational infrastructure and empowering developers.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:

• Leadership Experience: A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 4 years in an engineering management role leading software engineers.
• Distributed Systems Expertise: Proven track record of leading teams that have shipped and operated complex, large-scale distributed systems, preferably in the storage, database, or cloud infrastructure space.
• Team Development: Demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop senior engineers, and build high-performing, inclusive teams.
• Execution Excellence: Exceptional project management and execution skills, with extensive experience planning, building, and overseeing delivery to meet commitments.
• Technical Depth: Significant technical depth in distributed systems, sufficient to be a credible leader, guide architectural discussions, and effectively unblock your team.
• Collaboration & Influence: Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with Product Management, other engineering teams, and leadership.
