We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Platform team. This team is Jagex’s Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), responsible for governing Cloud platforms and empowering Development teams to utilise Cloud platforms in a secure, scalable, and standardised way.
It's an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in the future of RuneScape, helping to define Jagex’s hosting infrastructure and DevOps practices.
What you'll be doing:
Cloud Center of Excellence:
- Helping to define secure Configuration Standards for Cloud resources.
- Developing and maintaining Landing Zones and Guardrails in a complex, multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure).
- Supporting Development teams to comply with Configuration Standards.
- Supporting organization level Cloud cost management and optimization.
- Producing standardized Infrastructure-as-Code modules for reuse throughout the organization.
- Producing standardized VM and Container images for reuse throughout the organization.
- Supporting the Security team in monitoring organization wide Cloud Security Posture Management findings and helping Development teams to resolve them.
Cloud Platform Operations:
- Maintaining centralized Cloud services, such as AWS Cloud WAN, AWS Backup, and AWS Security Hub.
- Maintaining Cloud based Developer tooling, such as Perforce Helix Core, Jira, GitHub Enterprise, Terraform Enterprise, and TeamCity.
- Defining infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
- Capture and monitor Service Level Indicators for our team’s services and work to ensure that Service Level Objectives are met.
- Programming using Python.
- Supporting peers through code reviews, thorough documentation, technical guidance, and mentoring.
What you'll need:
- Extensive experience in AWS, particularly with managing medium-large multi-account Organizations.
- Strong understanding of Cloud security architecture and relevant tooling (AWS: IAM, SCP, RCP, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, CloudTrail, Config, Firewall Manager).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, or similar).
- Experience integrating security checks and controls in CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with containerized infrastructure (ECS, EKS, Docker).
- Solid programming skills in Python or a similar high-level language.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and SIEM tools.
