The Opportunity
As Senior Data Engineer you will excel in designing, implementing, and optimizing complex data architectures and pipelines, leveraging advanced tools and technologies. Your role involves solving complex engineering challenges, ensuring data quality, and enabling scalability across systems. You possess a complete understanding of principles, concepts, and industry practices, exerting some influence on organizational objectives. You often work independently under general direction, occasionally leading small project teams, and may represent the organization in contractual or project matters, interacting with senior internal and external personnel. You might also participate in training and mentoring staff.
Job Description

• Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals, leveraging SQL and Python.
• Define data requirements, gather and mine large-scale structured and unstructured data, and validate data using various data tools in the Big Data Environment.
• Support Data Scientists in data sourcing and preparation to visualize data and synthesize insights of commercial value.
• Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and processes for analytic data engineering to improve productivity.
• Train and mentor team members in applying data standards, ensuring consistency and quality across analytics initiatives.
• Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes.
• Partner with business analysts and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for strategic enterprise projects and initiatives.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with relevant Data/DWH/BI project.
• Expert in designing and maintaining scalable data architectures, capable of handling complex data systems.
• Proficient in SQL and other data manipulation languages, with a strong ability to optimize and troubleshoot queries.
• Skilled in DevOps practices and continuous integration to enhance workflow efficiencies.
• Experienced in software development methodologies, contributing to both project and operational goals. Specifically, skilled and oriented in agile development ways of working organized via scrum/kanban board. Familiar with scrum ceremonies and willingness to support and embrace agile practices on day-to-day work.
• Knowledgeable in data structures and algorithms, enhancing data processing and storage solutions.
• Efficient in system integration, ensuring seamless data flow and connectivity across platforms.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Scala, applying them effectively in data engineering tasks.
• Experienced in SQL database management, performance tuning, and complex query handling.
• Capable of performing advanced troubleshooting and guiding others through complex problem-solving processes.

Preferred Skills:

• Skilled in cloud platform deployment environments like Amazon Web Services and it's services, both native or cloud-agnostic, specifically oriented about data storage, data lake, data warehouse and data migration processes.
• Familiar with distributed data technologies like Spark and Hadoop, capable of managing large-scale data operations.
• Exposure in AWS, Databricks, PySpark, with the ability to provide guidance and advice on complex database programming and optimization.

Salary
As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 3850 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
