ELEKS Software Engineering and Development Office is looking for a Senior Data Engineer (Data Fabric) in Croatia, Poland, Europe.

ABOUT PROJECT 
Our client is a global law firm providing legal services to clients across various industries. The firm specializes in corporate law, dispute resolution, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, including expertise in ETL development and tabular models
  • Expert-level DAX skills, with a focus on writing efficient, scalable calculations for enterprise tabular models
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Analysis Services (AAS), and Power BI
  • Deep understanding of building, migrating, and optimizing tabular models
  • Experience with testing and validating security models for enterprise data solutions
  • Proven ability to optimize data refresh processes and performance
  • Practical experience in connecting multiple data sources and ensuring seamless data flows
  • Excellent documentation skills to capture technical solutions, processes, and key findings
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • English: Upper-Intermediate or higher

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and permanently remove unused/null fields in the AAS global tabular model using DAX and model analysis
  • Review existing DAX measures in the global tabular model to identify performance bottlenecks
  • Document inefficient patterns and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Suggest structural model changes where necessary
  • Support the team in planning potential future optimizations
  • Migrate the global tabular model from Azure Analysis Services to Microsoft Fabric
  • Enhance the productivity and efficiency of the migration process on Fabric
  • Connect standard key reports to the new Fabric-based tabular model
  • Conduct performance testing of reports post-migration
  • Test and validate the security models in the new environment
  • Ensure the ability to further develop and expand the moved tabular model
  • Test refresh speed and reliability for the tabular model in Fabric
  • Integrate the global tabular model with an additional data source located in Fabric
  • Test interconnectivity and data flow between the global tabular model and additional data sources
  • Document all implemented solutions, processes, findings, and conclusions
