Role Summary

Come join an exciting team whose purpose is to improve finance process through the growth and application of data analytics at Sun Life. As part of the Finance Accelerator team, you will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of applying data and analytics to transform financial processes across the organization. You will be helping Sun Life use analytics to deliver on our purpose of helping our Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.

As a Data Analyst and Developer on the Corporate Finance Accelerator team, you will be working with a cross functional team of Finance and IT professionals to deliver impactful business intelligence solutions to support Finance processes across the organization. These solutions are meant to improve finance processes while enhancing analytical capabilities to generate further insights and ultimately better data driven decisions. The team works in an agile environment and delivers outcomes leveraging Kanban methodology.

What will you do?

  • Build out comprehensive business intelligence and reporting for finance teams based on the needs of their varied audiences
  • Effectively translate business and project needs into data extraction and manipulation plans
  • Leverage data expertise to support initiatives through scoping, implementation, impact analysis, and ongoing reporting

What your need to succeed:

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, statistics, or finance, or 5+ year of equivalent work experience and ability in the following areas:
    • Reporting and business intelligence including the use of data visualization software such as Tableau, SAC, Visual Analytics, etc.
    • Data sourcing, manipulation, and transformation
    • Experience with SQL, & VBA
    • Knowledge and experience with ETL (i.e. Informatica, AWS Glue) advantageous
    • Ability to write complex queries to extract and integrate data from multiple data sources
    • Strong Microsoft Office Skills

  • Ability to distill complex technical information into key points that matter to the audience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
