We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Category Manager to join our Procurement Team! The successful candidate will be looking after Event Services including Accreditation, Fan Engagement, Hospitality and Promoters. This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your positive attitude and to develop, maintain and strengthen collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

  • Identify and deliver sourcing opportunities through analysis of procurement spend, supply base, and marketplace research.
  • Negotiate bespoke contract terms and statements of work with suppliers, to support the management of FOM’s risk management and commercial priorities.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, including business leads, Finance, Legal, Health & Safety, and Compliance.
  • Create and socialize a category plan using spend data and analysis and develop a yearly project plan for key priorities.
  • Manage the end-to-end Procurement Cycle, including tender preparation, execution, contract award, and subsequent management.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to provide value for money and business benefit, ensuring alignment with business needs and risk management.
  • Support and coach direct reports through regular feedback, setting yearly objectives, and completing End of Year assessments.
  • Continuously improve team processes to enhance efficiency and drive best practices within the team and the wider business.
  • Support with ongoing supplier due diligence and verification activities, to ensure adherence with F1’s SOX and financial obligations.

Knowledge and Skills Required 

  • Extensive procurement and direct line management experience
  • MCIPS required
  • Ability to draft and negotiate robust and detailed contracts to meet business objectives including Framework Agreements/MSAs, Statements of Work, and associated KPIs/SLAs
  • Proven Event Services Category Management and Hospitality Category track record within an organisation that may operate within strict deadlines, to include Fan Engagement, Hospitality and Accreditation
  • Excellent presentation, written communication and interpersonal/stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to drive strategic initiatives through the full life cycle and influence behavioural change internally and throughout the supply chain
  • Experience of generating fact-based insights through analysis using tools and techniques to provide strategic direction, including competency using Excel / pivot tables.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to pivot where directed or necessary between business priorities in a fast-moving environment where there are ambiguities
  • Working knowledge of P2P and Procurement systems, preferably Microsoft D365 and Medius
