Help shape the future of Energy Trading by delivering business and technology transformation across trading, risk, operations, and data functions.

The Role

Capco is seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to support strategic and operational change initiatives within leading Energy Trading organisations.

Working at the intersection of business, technology, and trading operations, you will partner with stakeholders across Front Office, Commercial Operations, Risk, Pricing, Settlements, Data, and Technology teams to deliver complex change programmes. This is a hands-on Business Analysis role, where you will lead requirements engineering activities, facilitate workshops, define business processes and operating models, and translate business needs into practical technology solutions. You will play a key role in helping clients optimise trading processes, improve operational efficiency, and enhance decision-making capabilities throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead requirements engineering activities, eliciting, analysing, validating, and documenting business requirements across business and technology stakeholders.

  • Own workshop facilitation and stakeholder analysis, driving requirements gathering sessions and building consensus across business and technology teams.

  • Produce high-quality BA artefacts including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, process models, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and data requirements.

  • Define current and future-state operating models, supporting business process redesign, business readiness, process improvement, and organisational change activities.

  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams within Agile (Azure DevOps) and hybrid delivery environments, supporting backlog management and prioritisation.

  • Work hands-on throughout the Agile delivery lifecycle, ensuring end-to-end traceability from requirements through delivery while supporting testing, UAT, implementation, and stakeholder decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on Business Analysis experience delivering complex business and technology change programmes within Energy Trading environments.

  • Proven experience leading requirements engineering, workshop facilitation, stakeholder analysis, and business process modelling across business and technology teams.

  • Demonstrable experience producing high-quality BA artefacts including BRDs, user stories, process models, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and business process documentation.

  • Experience supporting business process redesign and operating model definition within complex transformation programmes.

  • Experience across one or more Energy Trading domains including Front Office Trading, Commercial Operations, Risk Management, Settlements, Pricing, Analytics, or Trading Operations.

  • Technical awareness of SQL, Python, APIs, data modelling, data lineage, and integration concepts.

  • Knowledge of Gas, Power, LNG, Commodities Trading, Trade Capture, Deal Lifecycle Management, or Physical Energy Markets.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, requirements engineering, and process modelling skills.

  • Proven experience working hands-on within Agile delivery frameworks, partnering with both business and technology stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience with ETRM/CTRM platforms such as Endur, Allegro, RightAngle, Openlink, or other commodity trading systems.

  • Knowledge of nominations, scheduling, confirmations, settlements, invoicing, pricing, market risk, credit risk, P&L, valuation, forecasting, or trading analytics.

  • Experience delivering cloud transformation, data platform, integration, analytics, reporting, or market data initiatives.

  • Understanding of energy supply and demand fundamentals, pricing curves, market data, and quantitative modelling environments.
