Senior Business Analyst - Data & Systems | Up to £60k | Remote (UK)

Occasional working from one of our offices expected

Bridge the gap between complex technical architecture and business impact.

Focus Group is a 1,300-person Microsoft technology partner backed by HG Capital, and we're undergoing significant transformation. We need an experienced Senior Business Analyst who can navigate complex systems landscapes, assess the ripple effects of change, and translate technical complexity into clear business outcomes.

What Makes This Role Different

This isn't a typical BA position. You'll be the critical link between our Data Architecture team, development teams, and business stakeholders—conducting impact assessments that shape strategic decisions and ensuring system changes deliver value without unintended consequences.

Data Model Impact Assessment: Lead comprehensive analysis of proposed structural changes across our proprietary and third-party systems (ServiceNow, etc.). Map dependencies, identify risks, and develop migration strategies that minimise disruption while enabling progress.

Analytics Requirements Support: Work with our Data & Analytics team to gather requirements for reporting enhancements and system improvements, translating analytical needs into technical specifications that development teams can action.

Your Business Analysis Expertise

Core BA Skills: 6+ years BA experience | Advanced requirements gathering and stakeholder management | Complex systems impact assessment | Translating technical concepts for business audiences | Agile methodologies | Strong documentation and process mapping (including UI wireframes) | Risk assessment and impact analysis

Technical Foundation: Database and data systems experience (minimum 3 years focused here) | Understanding of enterprise system architectures and data flows | Experience with proprietary custom-built systems and commercial platforms | API integrations and system interfaces | ETL processes and reporting system design | SQL query writing and data analysis

Bonus Points: ServiceNow experience | Cloud architecture awareness (Azure ideal) | Snowflake or similar data warehouse solutions | Data transformation tools | Data migration projects

Why This Role Matters

You'll report directly to the Director of Strategic Programs, working at the intersection of data architecture, analytics, and business strategy. Your impact assessments will directly influence enterprise data strategy and system architecture decisions—this is BA work with genuine strategic weight.

The role splits 4 days on strategic data model projects and 1 day supporting analytics requirements, giving you variety while building deep expertise in systems architecture and business impact analysis.
