The role

As a senior cloud network engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for helping our Cloud Engineers with specific networking incidents and requests. While your main focus will be on networking, a solid understanding of Azure is essential, as troubleshooting often involves other Azure resources. You'll need to have a strong grasp of networking fundamentals, such as routing, subnets, IP addressing, and DNS. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working closely with a tight-knit team and is eager to expand their technical knowledge in the Cloud Space.

What will I be doing?

  • Ensure all tickets are managed within service level agreements and KPI’s.
  • Be a senior escalation point for all things cloud networking
  • Provide knowledge shares and assistance to colleagues on cloud networking incidents and changes.
  • Ensure clear ticket updates.
  • Work within ITIL framework service delivery procedures. 
  • Manage a customer ticket both technically and procedurally via Phone, Email or Web portal in line with defined SLAs and KPIs. 
  • Manage own ticket queue and assist other team members where appropriate.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, such as routing, subnets, IP addressing, and DNS.
  • Familiarity with implementing Network Virtual Appliances in public cloud environments – especially FortiGate firewall devices.
  • Assessment and ownership of changes to customer network environments.
  • Designing changes for service improvement. 
  • Configuring and maintaining Azure networks for customers.
  • Raise awareness of issues to Problem Manager and assisting with resolutions.
  • Contribute towards continuous service improvement alongside service managers. 

What will I bring to the role?

  • Service Desk/Support experience at 2nd or 3rd line level.
  • A thirst for continuously improving technical knowledge.
  • Effective troubleshooting methodology
  • Experience with Azure networking and Azure networking tools
  • Fortinet Experience is essential
  • CCNA/ AZ-700 is ideal.
