Job Description

At Shawbrook we are delivering cutting edge applications as we continue our journey of technical transformation, and we’re looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to provide second line support to the Shawbrook Savings Environment.

Working in a small and dynamic team you will be instrumental to ensuring a stable and robust Savings platform and will provide essential data and reporting on some of our key applications, as well as working on support tickets and investigating user issues.

As we continue to expand our technical footprint, our existing On-Prem applications will be replaced with a new cloud based Savings Digital Platform, which you will provide support for in the cloud environment. This is a fast paced and hands on role, with great opportunities to gain exposure to multiple areas of the business and make a lasting impact. You will build strong working relationships with Product, Engineering and Delivery Teams, as well as external Software vendors and other support service providers.

Please note this role will be part of a rota to provide system support outside core hours (including evenings, week-ends and bank holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a stable platform of Shawbrook savings systems and responding to any outages/system issues as required.
  • Supporting, maintaining and configuring the applications used by the Shawbrook Savings Operations, both front end public facing systems and back-end host systems.
  • Ensuring IT governance is followed to a high standard. Including incident/problem management, user access control, change control, release management, service management.
  • Managing Start of Day (SoD), Intra Day, End of Day (EoD) checks and completing required reporting.
  • Generating and issuing daily, weekly and monthly reports for Business MI as required.
  • Investigating, managing and diagnosing tickets/requests ensuring timely responses and SLAs adhered to.
  • Working with third party providers, escalating issues as required.
  • Working with wider Savings Engineering teams, escalating as required for any issues requiring 3rd level assistance.
  • Participate in build/dev work required for providing solutions to Business issues impacting the existing Savings systems.

Qualifications

  • SQL- You'll work with integrations across the savings domain, you’ll need proficiency in querying and updating data, understanding schemas, and using MS SQL Management Studio.
  • Oracle- Our Savings applications operate across both SQL and Oracle, you will need familiarity with Oracle databases, particularly the Summit system, and an understanding the subtle differences between Oracle and SQL to support both environments.
  • JavaScript- Our customer facing front ends are written in JavaScript, you will need the ability to read and make basic modifications to troubleshoot and enhance customer-facing systems.
  • IIS (Internet Information Services)- You'll manage configurations, perform changes, and ensure optimal performance for web-based systems. You will need knowledge of configuring websites exposed to the public, specifically for key savings applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and .NET would be beneficial.
