The AI Design team creates AI behaviours and interactable entities for Squadron 42 and Star Citizen. We aim to achieve a level of detail never seen before in a video game. Our current focus is to populate the various locations with convincing life based on a location’s theme, lore, and environmental conditions.

What does an AI Designer at CIG do?
- Create AI behaviours for a variety of purposes (social, combat, flight)
- Create entities the AI will interact with
- Give our AI Designers ownership. They design, build and implement the AI behaviours in-game.
- Collaborate with the animation team. Attend motion capture sessions and give opinions on the direction and technical setup.
- Prototyping new behaviours and entities to previsualize the intentions
What do we ask for?
- A passion for developing AI behaviours
- The ability to analyse existing or competitors AI design choices
- Knowledge of visual scripting tools such as Unreal Blueprint.
- Affinity for 3D game editors and tools.
- Experience in game development in a technical-level design capacity.
- Eagerness to hear feedback and willingness to iterate on a design.
