Position Summary

CVS Health is looking for a Senior Manager, Actuarial to support the International Actuarial team. Aetna International insures members around the world, including 6 continents and over 170 countries. The business is experiencing rapid growth as the global economy continues to recover from the pandemic. This is creating a unique opportunity to gain market share by expanding product offerings and targeting new cohorts of business.

This role will oversee a broad range of key business elements, lead high impact projects to analyze and improve our competitive position in the market, drive business growth through new product offerings and pricing strategies, and collaborate with various business units and levels of leadership.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Assess risk in innovative ways, convert data and analytics into actionable business insight, and present analysis to leadership.
  • Identifying new product offerings by analyzing existing trends and competitive data within the international markets.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Clinical, and Strategy team to develop new suite of customer reporting including clinical insights, medical expense reviews, and benchmarking.
  • Oversee broader actuarial priorities, such as pricing, reserving, forecasting, benchmarking, and ad-hoc financial analyses.
  • Influencing resources within and outside of direct control to complete projects.

Required Qualifications

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as interaction with the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • ​ASA (or close too designation) or FSA
  • 5+ years actuarial and/or health insurance experience
  • 5+ years technical/programming experience including SQL, VBA, Excel, MS Access, and data warehouse querying
  • Heavy pricing experience
  • Strong consultative and analytical skills, as well as the ability to develop relationships within/outside of the Actuarial Services Department
  • Proven project management skills including experience in development and management of multiple projects and various initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment, as well as independently

This role also includes collaborating on business initiatives, recognizing and anticipating matters that will materially impact financial outcomes, providing sound risk management advice, and communicating effectively to a variety of audiences.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$118,450.00 - $260,590.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
