Role Description

Due to continued growth within Arcadis Security, we are expanding our Vetting team and are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Vetting Officer to support National Security Vetting (NSV), clearance aftercare and Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening activities.

This is a predominantly administration-focused role, responsible for coordinating vetting processes, maintaining accurate records, handling sensitive information and supporting colleagues, candidates and client vetting teams through the clearance process. Role accountabilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for vetting enquiries from employees, managers, candidates and client vetting teams.
  • Administer National Security Vetting applications, transfers, shares, cancellations and clearance aftercare through the UKSV portal.
  • Assess eligibility for security clearance applications and identify where additional information is required.
  • Deliver BPSS screening, including new applications and client-led renewals.
  • Review applications and supporting documentation, identifying gaps and obtaining outstanding information from candidates.
  • Maintain accurate vetting records, databases and SharePoint sites.
  • Process and securely handle highly sensitive personal data in line with security requirements.
  • Manage the Arcadis Vetting shared mailbox and ensure timely responses to enquiries.
  • Identify and escalate complex cases, potential risks and eligibility concerns to the Personnel Security Manager.
  • Support compliance with UK legislation, GovS 007 and client security requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in a vetting, screening, compliance, security administration or similar administrative role.
  • Knowledge of National Security Vetting (NSV) and/or BPSS processes.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management or vetting systems.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain UK National Security Vetting clearance.
  • Experience within Defence, Government, Nuclear or Critical National Infrastructure environments would be advantageous.
  • Current SC clearance and knowledge of UKSV, DISA or NPSA personnel security guidance would be beneficial.
