Sales Business Development Manager

Location: United Kingdom – Hybrid Working

Role Purpose:

Focus on sales at existing and new customers, identifies and evaluates business opportunities to grow Lonza`s share in the Consumer Health and Nutrition market (Dosage Form Solutions and Ingredients). Works closely with divisional and regional business leaders in order to identify and select strategic business opportunities and to define effective plans to secure growth for Lonza by targeting mass market retail brand, direct to consumer start-ups , large consumer health companies and nutrition contract manufacturers. Coordinate assigned cross functional projects between Sales/NPD/R&D/Operations with the objective to grow the business. Responsible for establishing the market evaluation positioning and introduction of new products, services, and technologies in the region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales and generating new business & expansion of the customer base through direct customer visits
  • Must be able to generate and close new business opportunities by promoting current technologies and emerging technologies as they become available mainly in the field of dosage form solutions and scientifically researched nutritional ingredients.
  • Developing and implementing strategic account plans for the top accounts in order to grow share if wallet and launch new innovations.
  • Identifies market trends, assesses market potential and develops strategies to grow Lonza´s market share in the Consumer Healthcare Industries.
  • Creates creative presentations and implements development projects together with project management and product development for the UK regional customers with the required project plans.
  • Provides timely customer support and collaborates with internal resources, when necessary.
  • Works with Lonza marketing, sales and product development to develop strategies that ensures Lonza´s position as a multi products solution provider for customers’ existing products and new product introductions.
  • Ability to sell and manage to all levels of relationships including President, VP, Director, and CEO of Capsugel customers.

Key requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel extensively (30-50%) and at any time. Extensive travel expected within the UK region
  • Knowledge of product life cycles is required
  • Must be action and execution oriented, possess the ability to work independently, with a high degree of interpersonal savvy, organizational agility, and managerial courage
  • Experience in identifying market trends and establishing action plans that capitalize on those trends
  • Must be able to work across regions and multiple functions
  • Proven track record in identifying market trends and establishing action plans that capitalize on the trends to deliver sales
  • Sales driven and results oriented with a high degree of enthusiasm, creativity and an entrepreneurial approach
