As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology division, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for the firm's cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a developing member of the software engineering team, you will implement software solutions by designing, developing, and troubleshooting various components within technical products, applications, or systems, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary for career growth in your role.
Job responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software applications using Python and related technologies.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
  • Participate in the design and architecture of new features and applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand project requirements and deliver solutions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on Python concepts and expanding applied experience.
  • Proven experience as a Python Developer or similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming language and frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, boto3).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies is beneficial.
  • Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
