The Implementation Project Manager II will be responsible for the overall coordination, project management and delivery of Rackspace products and services for our customers, with the goal of ensuring Rackspace delivers their environment in a secure, reliable, high-performing and scalable support ready state.  

 

This Racker is also in position to help drive revenue materialisation where the focus is to efficiently bring the customer’s environments from design to deployment and Business as Usual (BAU). The right person will also work well and coordinate with other Rackers that are helping to deliver the project.

 

The builds will range from very simple to highly complex engagements for which the Project Manager will minimize risk, optimize operations and support business growth through pro-active and personable interactions. 


Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures smooth transition of new customer between sales and support by participating in sales handover and implementation call with Rackspace customers
  • Pipeline and account distribution tracking – attending team meetings
  • Create implementation documents and organize scheduling of calls
  • Takes detailed notes throughout implementation call, supplies action lists and summary.
  • Update internal systems to ensure all relevant information is captured and deployed as part of the build.
  • Follow up on outstanding action items for the customer and for Rackspace
  • Track and record progress of implementation
  • Submit Deployment documents to customer by supplying project updates, weekly updates and other support documents in line with Rackspace Client On-boarding.

  • Managing Server Builds:
  • Ensure accurate and timely builds of new devices for new and existing accounts, manage risks and solve delays.
  • Track and record progress of implementation
  • Communicates expectations between internal teams and provide accurate delivery dates to the customer Account Team, manage the build queues to ensure revenue is recognized.
  • Acquire additional information that may be needed to begin the build, identify build impacting info and prioritize accordingly.
  • Manages flow of solution provisioning process within support team, with the goal to hit agreed date, reduce cycle time and recognize revenue.
  • Manage Core and other internal tools and systems.

  • Implementation Administration:
  • Manage revenue and billing tickets
  • Update internal folders and project portals
  • Manage deployment, change management and client on-boarding documentation.
  • Manage your tickets, including status updates, responses etc.
  • Supporting the Implementation team through updating documents, working on process changes and improvements

Person Specification

  • Previous experience of working in a process oriented role, preferable an Implementation or deployment based role.
  • Industry related technical knowledge advantageous, specifically project and process training.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow processes and procedures
  • Self-motivated resourceful and proactive
  • Desire to uphold Rackspace Fanatical Support
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills, ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with great attention to detail
  • Ability to learn and retain technical knowledge (at a level required in this role)
  • Ability to adapt to changes in processes and products
  • Demonstrates tenacity, working to resolve problems and own issues until full resolution
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the business processes
  • Requirements / Qualifications:
  • One year relevant previous cloud / hosting experience
  • Certified Scrum Master, PMP or equivalent experience
  • Eligible for UK Government Clearance (Strict Requirement)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferable
