About the role
A ProdSec intern at Cloudflare will have the unique opportunity to participate in the development of security automation at scale and also in vulnerability research. The Product Security program and capabilities' purpose is to help ensure that Cloudflare's products and platforms have the right security posture in place and continuously help drive a higher security bar that aids the Cloudflare mission.

What would you do as a Cloudflare intern?
- Ship and deliver projects over 12-16 weeks with autonomy and support.
- Work cross-functionally with various teams.
- Be assigned a mentor to guide you through the internship and help with career goals.
- Build your network across the company through our various in and out of office socials, networking programs, Employee Resource Group (ERG) programs, and Activity Groups (Cat or dog lovers, we've got communities for you! @Catflare @Doggos).
- Present your project to the entire company at the end of the internship.
- Get direct access to our executives and leadership team including our co-founders.

What You'll Do
You will be expected to be a contributing member of the Product Security team within the Cloudflare security organization. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in various aspects of security, including secure SDLC, vulnerability intelligence and application security testing. Interns will work in a structured program that emphasizes skill development and exposure to meaningful security work engaging with different security, engineering and product professionals.
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Effective communicator to all levels of the organization
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
- Development experience with Go, Rust or Python
- Some experience in security through work, education/training, or hobby
- Experience leveraging and/or building RESTful APIs
- Experience developing and complying with policies, standards, and processes.
- Knowledge of common product security vulnerabilities and mitigations
- Ability to switch rapidly and refocus between task
- Quick learners and ready to address newer challenges
