Our team is responsible for being the people who know things! With Cloudera’s complex stack, our account teams in the field rely on the field specialists to deep dive on their specialist area and help make our customers successful. We take our technical and market expertise and channel it into education and tools for our colleagues and even find the time to feed back to the product organisation so we can make Cloudera better. If you’re looking for a role that encourages creative freedom, lets you influence product roadmap and impact our most interesting use cases, then this is the place for you!

We're excited about you if you have (qualifications):

  • 10+ years of professional work experience in a similar position, selling solutions to business leaders and technical champions in the enterprise

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes or related container technologies; e.g. RedHat OpenShift, Rancher, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar

  • Proficient hands-on experience with Linux/RHEL

  • Solid experience with software-defined storage (SDS) and software-defined networking (SDN) components within the Kubernetes ecosystem.

  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies

  • Experience in Solution Architecture/Engineering, including the ability to listen to customer requirements, develop and propose solution architectures through whiteboarding, and actively engage with the technology to design, build, and showcase real business value

As a Private Cloud Field Specialist you will (responsibilities):

  • Create and present customer-focused solution designs, proposed architectures, and business outcomes to various stakeholders, including developers, architects, CTOs, and CIOs

  • Collaborate with the presales team to help define the technical selling strategy for a deal

  • Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including solution sizing and capacity planning

  • Create and present demo solutions for data processing and management on the Kubernetes platform to prospective clients

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, when necessary.

  • Explore current and new technologies, develop materials and workshops to educate colleagues and customers

  • Work with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Services, Support, Training, and Engineering to share Cloudera’s vision with customers

  • Advise customers on use case patterns through discovery and requirements workshops

  • Transform customer feedback into actionable product roadmap items

  • Participate within the Cloudera community, share evangelism activities (blogs, meetups, industry events), and contribute to internal and external knowledge repositories

  • Four year degree (Bachelor's) from accredited university required.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

You’ll learn a lot on the job, but you’ll make an impact much quicker if you have (bonus qualifications):
