About the role

We are looking for an experienced, passionate, results-oriented Product Management Consultant. Someone who is a great problem solver with proven experience in delivering digital products and services. Our Product Management Consultants work with multi-disciplinary teams, including UX and UI experts, architects, engineers and others to define and roll out digital products and services for our customers.

We are looking for someone who can lead client engagements, get involved in early pre-sales conversations, and take a concept from a proposal through to delivery. 

You have proven skills in simplifying and articulating complex processes and touchpoints to deliver exceptional experiences. A strategic thinker, who can prioritise and define product roadmaps, manage a product backlog, make quick decisions and lead teams to release quality products within planned timelines.

Our product management consultants understand modern platform structures, cloud architectures, digital platforms and data strategy considerations.

As a Principal Consultant, we are also looking for someone who can lead and build a team of product consultants. Developing our people and capabilities to be industry leading. 


What you'll do 

As our Principal Product Management Consultant role is diverse and varied and, depending on your strengths, you will carry out a range of activities from undertaking customer research, running client workshops, leading design sessions to being a proxy product owner for our customers. No one day will be the same. 

You will work with customers across diverse sectors, and complex challenges, on both major transformations (typically 6-18 months) and smaller-scope engagements. 


Characteristics of the role could include: 

  • Working with a client to research, design and build a digital product or service.
  • Working as part of pre-sales team to develop winning proposals and pitches.
  • Helping a client design and scale a new Gen AI powered solution. 
  • Leading a discovery with a client. 
  • Managing the delivery of a new data insights service for a major Enterprise client. 
  • Running co-creation and innovation workshops to generate break through ideas and concepts for client teams across industries. 
  • Developing industry leading services with other people at Ascent, creating stand out services that combine data, tech, design and commerce that our customers love 

 
Skills and Experience

You are an all-rounder with a set of skills and knowledge that enable them to bring commercial thinking together with creativity, technology and data to deliver awesome solutions for our clients. 

  • Must have experience coordinating software delivery teams creating bespoke solutions, following Agile Software Delivery approaches, such as in the capacity of a Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst. 
  • Must have experience using Design Thinking and Agile. 
  • Experience leading Discovery exercises to explore a new opportunity or product increment. 
  • Experience using software delivery technologies to manage a product roadmap, such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar. 
  • Well-versed in typical product, analysis, or service design methods to define user needs, such as User Story Mapping, Service Blueprints, Wireframes etc.
  • Can tell a story visually, bringing people along the journey of transformation. 
  • A passion for innovation and the positive impact that digital transformation can have on value creation. 
  • Have a positive, can attitude and an infectious positive energy that enthuses clients and team mates alike. 
  • A growth mindset and a passion to continually explore and learn new things. 
  • An ability to build relationships and influence at all levels and across multidisciplinary teams (e.g. design, engineering, product, data and function heads). 
  • A client centred approach ensuring high-quality deliverables, client success and continuous account growth. 
  • An ability to make abstract, complicated technical subjects easy to understand.
