Summary

As the Device Platform Engineering Manager, you will own and be responsible for the engineering and service for all enterprise, end user devices and the endpoint management platforms across a multi-site, device-diverse Retail estate.

This will include the endpoint management platform and device roadmap, engineering backlog, aligned to business priorities, target architecture and agreed engineering and service standards.

You will lead and develop a high-performing team, including managed service partners, to standardise, secure and continuously improve endpoint engineering, operations and management services. The role will deliver secure, reliable, low-friction device experiences for colleagues across Stores, Distribution Centres and Support Centre offices.

Drive transformation targeting a standard, unified endpoint management capability and operating model, shifting the organisation from location/device-specific ownership to a one platform view across the estate, with clear guardrails for configuration, policy, packaging, deployment and lifecycle practices.

You will be the platform owner, not just an endpoint admin. A people leader, not just a technical specialist. A retail / frontline service designer, not just an office-device manager.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design, build, testing and operation of enterprise endpoint-management platforms, owning the roadmap, backlog, engineering standards and technical change governance.

  • Define standard endpoint-management patterns, provisioning, policy, application deployment, upgrade and lifecycle practices to enable secure, low-touch and supportable device experiences across all environments.

  • Own the endpoint security, compliance and control posture across configuration, encryption, firewall, antivirus, patching, hardening, baseline enforcement, reporting and remediation.

  • Ensure service stability and operational health by using analytics, reporting and rollout discipline to improve device experience, resilience, vulnerability management and continuous service improvement.

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary endpoint capability, working cross-functionally with product, security, architecture, service, operations, vendors and partners to deliver business outcomes, quality and cost optimisation.

Who you are

  • Proven experience leading enterprise endpoint or workplace technology platforms at scale, with accountability for roadmap, delivery, service health, security, quality and engineering standards.

  • Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Intune, MECM, Autopilot, co-management, Windows device management, policy and compliance design, software deployment, patching and endpoint-security controls.

  • Ability to define the target technical end state and deliver a secure, scalable and cost-effective route to standardised endpoint management across mixed device and operating environments.

  • Experience operating in complex, frontline-heavy or multi-site environments, including shared devices, kiosks, tablets, mobile devices, operational endpoints and office-based colleague devices.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capability, with experience leading engineers, vendors and virtual teams, driving service ownership, change discipline, analytics-led improvement and delivery through others.
