About the Role

Within your role as a Placement Year – Ground Engineering at BakerHicks, you will be required to prepare and input to various stages of Ground Engineering deliverables, supporting the companies growth on all aspects of projects across a number of sectors including power, rail, highways, life sciences, nuclear and aviation.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join an award winning team, and develop your Ground Engineering skills as you put in to practice the theory you have learned.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Undertake the design and specification of Ground Engineering activities.
  • Undertake site inspections of existing assets.
  • Represent BakerHicks on site visits where required to observe ground investigation works.

Skills and Experience:

  • We’re looking for individuals with a passion for Ground Engineering and are studying a Civil Engineering or Earth Sciences degree and working towards achieving at least a 2:1 grade.
  • Feel confident to challenge the status quo.
  • Strive for perfect delivery and possess a willingness to get involved with every opportunity to develop yourself and put our customers first.

Many of the positions within our company are subject to security clearance. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by various factors. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain security clearance for this role as required by our clients and sectors.
