As the People connect Leader you will lead the People Connect Group for EMEA and APAC region, within the People Team in Dow Jones. The People Connect Group is a team that centralizes all our People Operations globally. As an extension of the People Business Partner team, this team is critical to an excellent employee experience. The People Connect Group is a strategic enablement partner that serves as the foundation to the People function at Dow Jones, setting high standards, establishing processes and applying best practices. We promote self-service and resolution to People related queries and oversee the employee experience.

As the leader of this team, you are dedicated to enhancing the employee experience within our organization. Your role will center around cultivating a team that is adept at delivering exceptional customer service to employees company-wide. As a leader you know how to mentor, coach and inspire your team, breaking down silos and walls to help them succeed. Juggling multiple, occasionally conflicting, priorities is second nature to you. In close collaboration with various People functions and the global PCG, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for and supporting employee experience through clear communication, well-defined policies, and best practices. You will devise communication and change programs to champion and advocate ServiceNow, increasing and driving the adoption of this self-service platform across the globe. This is a highly visible role within the global People team and you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and implement processes and procedures that directly contribute to the day-to-day efficiency and overall growth initiatives of our business.

The role reports into VP, People EMEA & APAC as well as Global Head, People Connect Group.

You Will:

  • Provide leadership to the EMEA & APAC People Connect Group. You will be responsible for recruiting, training and coaching the team to deliver excellent service to employees and managers. 

  • Ensure balance of workload and priorities across the team, effectively utilising and optimizing resources and capacity through peaks and troughs during the year

  • Be responsible for building a performance culture in the team and do this through setting clear goals and expectations and delivering timely feedback.

  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery within the People team for People queries and requests from employees, line managers, PBPs and Centers of Excellence across the full employee life cycle, including but not limited to, employee onboarding, off boarding, payroll-related queries, benefits, leave of absence, PTO balances, employee care and development

  • Be the point of escalation for People Connect Advisors on complex employee activities and transactions

  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement and collaborate with cross-functional partners to acquire feedback and post-implementation support

  • Be responsible for efficiency measurement of and improvement of employee and manager experience

  • Be the super-user across multiple People systems especially HCM Workday, ensuring that the centralized HCM (Workday) remains the source of truth

You Have:

  • A willingness to work in the office at least three days each week

  • Human resources/hr operations/shared services experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a systems/process Human Resource role a plus

  • Experience supporting employees base across multiple countries 

  • Experience leading an HR Operations team, both onsite and remotely, is required

  • Experience in a fast-paced large complex organizations

  • Previous experience of utilizing an integrated Human Resources Information System a plus

  • Union related experience a plus 

Technical Competencies:

  • Knowledge of a Human Resources Information system essential. Workday experience is preferred 

  • Experience of utilizing a case management/ticketing system (ServiceNow) is preferred 

  • Oversee HR systems within remit (ServiceNow), ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with organizational needs

  • Identify opportunities for technology enhancements to streamline HR workflows
