Are you ready to play a vital role where your technical expertise fuels cutting-edge logistics operations? We’re seeking a skilled and proactive MOVU Operations Engineer to join our forward-thinking team at the forefront of warehouse automation.

In this position, you’ll work within a highly automated, high-throughput environment, taking ownership of the maintenance and optimization of our MOVU shuttle system – a critical element of our advanced, high-density storage solution. Your role in our mission

As a core member of our site-based engineering team, you will:

  • Maintain and optimize the MOVU shuttle-based storage system: Ensure the shuttle vehicles and associated automation components operate at peak efficiency through a combination of scheduled and condition-based maintenance, while coordinating with racking system checks as required.
  • Execute technical diagnostics and fault rectification: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools and PLC systems to minimise downtime and maximise throughput.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM): Conduct scheduled inspections and maintenance in accordance with OEM guidelines and industry best practices to prevent future failures.
  • Ensure compliance and uphold safety standards: Operate within strict health and safety frameworks while supporting the site’s adherence to statutory, legal, and internal quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders: Liaise with site teams, contractors, and technology suppliers to ensure engineering excellence and timely completion of tasks.
  • Support departmental administration: Complete engineering documentation, update maintenance logs, manage stock control for spare parts, and support compliance reporting.

Valued skills and experience

To thrive in this role, you'll need to be technically skilled, detail-oriented, and ready to take ownership in a fast-paced, automation-driven environment.

  • Education & Certification: Minimum HND in Engineering or equivalent, ideally with a 70/30 electrical-to-mechanical bias

  • Automation Expertise: Demonstrated experience in automated systems, with working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens or similar platforms preferred)

  • Problem Solver: Strong troubleshooting skills with a logical, systematic approach to diagnosing faults

  • Hands-On Experience: Comfortable working with industrial machinery and at varying heights; physically capable of responding to urgent operational demands

  • Communication & Teamwork: Clear communicator with excellent administrative abilities and the confidence to collaborate across departments

  • Adaptability & Drive: Flexible with shift work, highly self-motivated, and eager to continuously improve skills through training and on-the-job learning
