An Onsite POS Specialist is expected to complete full installation of Hospitality Point-of-Sale systems, gateway services and related peripherals at merchant locations. Working predominantly in the Food & Beverage sector, this position requires an understanding of hospitality workflows, coordination with merchants to ensure all requirements are met before, during and after installation.
Installers will work with our clients by promoting the highest level of service and professionalism. They are also required to train clients on POS ecosystems once installed, especially covering items such as, taking food orders, opening closing tables, cashing up, reconciliation etc. Representatives are also expected to acquire an in-depth understanding of the entire hospitality merchant processing industry.
Worksite Location Requirements:
Installations for onsite services will be predominantly national & but with the possibility of some international travel required too. There will be time allocated for administrative and support tasks to be addressed in the office/home. The majority of onsite installations will take place within a 200 miles radius of London.
Responsibilities include:
- Onsite & Remote Service Scope:
- Installation & Configuration of SkyTab POS
- In Depth Training of SkyTab POS in an F&B environment
- Site Surveys/ Network Troubleshooting
- Repair/replacement of network cabling
- Hardware/Software Troubleshooting
- Able to test hardware, software, and credit card processing with no or minimal remote support.
- Post-installation, provide documentation and photos of work performed at each location.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including on call, early mornings, late nights, and occasional weekends, as
- Practice safe driving habits.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively on the phone, emails, and work orders.
- Tracking of expenses and submitting monthly expense reports.
- Provide installation and feedback on new software/hardware while in beta testing.
- Inventory management of equipment and requisition.
- Participate in recurring training of Shift4 product suite.
- Appointments that take place outside of your local area may require you to be away for several days at a time.
Requirements:
- Experience with Onsite POS installations
- Experience working with Oracle products specifically on Micros 3700, 9700 & Simphony
- Good driving record
- Willingness to travel on short notice
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Technician background dealing with network/computer troubleshooting or installation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated proficiency in software, such as Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Docs
- Friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing demeanor
- Ability to learn and retain new information and concepts quickly
- Ability to follow directions and strong follow up
- Proven good judgment and proactive decision-making skills
- Ability to adapt to change
Kudos for:
- 2+ years Hospitality Experience (Waiter/Waitress/Restaurant Manager/Maître d etc)
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work
- Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, MCP, etc
- Experience in the banking / credit card processing industry
