In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute the UK Machinery OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) drives sales strategy to support the relevant business strategy. You will be supporting OEM customers and driving sales in the UK market with low voltage AC drives, PLCs & HMIs and servo products. The role requires a strong level of cross-business collaboration with a focus on technical and application sales, hunting and business development activities.

Your Role and Responsibilities 

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. 

 

Work model: Hybrid  

 

  • Executes the UK Machinery OEM sales strategy and business plan meeting business objectives, supporting volume, mix and profitability targets for the local division 

  • Focuses on OEM hunting and business development activities to ensure growth and increase in market share in the Machinery OEM market 

  • Develops and implements solutions, product packages and software applications for OEM customers 

  • Supports in preparing sales proposals and negotiates contracts to secure new business 

  • Delivers product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the value and benefits of ABB’s solutions 

  • Collaborates with OEM hubs and the division to develop OEM application solutions that are technically appropriate, value adding and cost effective 

  • Identifies and understands key OEM market trends and drivers and provides feedback on customer and market requirements for development activities   

  • Executes the Communications plan to increase market and brand presence covering campaigns, trade shows, events and related activities 

  • Uses appropriate tools and processes for market mapping and developing OEM customers through the various sales stages  

  • Prepares sales forecasts and other sales-related information  

  • Demonstrates ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and acts accordingly 

  

 

Qualifications for the Role  

  • Strong experience in supporting Machinery OEM customers and relevant segments 

  • OEM application expertise and proven experience in drives and automation (Drives, PLCs, HMIs, Servo products)  

  • More than 5 years of front-end customer facing sales experience  

  • Strong commercial focus, ability to demonstrate experience in driving sales and new business development activities 

  • Strong customer and market focus, able to position the portfolio in a highly competitive market 

  • Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related technical field 

  • Passionate about technology, innovation, sustainability and energy efficiency 

  • Holder of a full UK driving licence
