As New Business Sales Executive, you are responsible for leading Aker’s growth by supporting, managing and leading the origination and closing of sales opportunities across the entire spectrum of Aker’s capabilities. This includes the creation and leadership of strategic, larger and more complex sales.  You will work collaboratively with pre-sales, bid management and our technical delivery teams to create compelling proposals that encourage our customers to buy from Aker.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Successfully identify, cultivate, lead, manage and close opportunities through management of multiple activities with the objective of creating mutually beneficial, trust-based customer relationships that create value
  • Develop and leverage existing and new relationships with potential customers and identify specific sales opportunities within existing and prospective clients
  • Produce compelling business cases for technology-enabled business change and explain its benefits in a clear manner
  • Assess suitability of potential partners when necessary to form strategic alliances and liaise with such partners
  • Successfully securing contracts through tenders; lead on Requests for Information, pre-qualifications, Invitations to Tender and building winning proposals
  • Provide solutions to complex business problems for potential clients by providing data-led solutions which involves in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives and End User outcomes
  • Set strategic direction with internal stakeholders in your assigned vertical sector to establish near term goals for growth and deliver to agreed new business growth targets
  • Manage all relevant internal and external stakeholders enroute to formal contract signature through logic, persuasion and influence
  • Work collaboratively with others to transition from sales to delivery following sales
  • Create compelling technical and business provocations to challenges, customer-facing propositions through competitive insight and high-impact customer pitches
  • Enhance Aker’s profile in the market by providing thought leadership and compelling white papers both to customers and internal stakeholders. Identify suitable strategic alliances to help develop our business strategy and capability
  • Identify precisely where Aker’s capabilities can add value for our customer base and mitigate any key risks for our customers

Core Competencies

  • 10+ years selling across the spectrum of your assigned vertical sector with deep understanding of sector landscape, competition and buying trends
  • 10+ years selling multi-tower deals (complex IT services, AO, IO, Journey to Cloud, Cloud, digital, data platforms etc.) and sales quota attainment against a firm annual sales target
  • Experience of successfully securing contracts through tenders
  • Experience with C-level and Senior Executive client relationship building and management
  • Experience with shaping, solutioning and negotiating large complex, creative, and innovative deals
  • Proven ability to work proactively, creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in a learning-based data technology and data engineering environment with experience of data acquisition, data sharing, data science, entity matching, AI and machine learning
