About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to help scale, secure, and support Rapid7's global network infrastructure. This is a hands-on role focused on operational excellence, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. You will work with a collaborative team to ensure our networks remain secure, resilient, and ready for growth.
Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, WLAN).
• Support and maintain network security controls including Palo Alto firewalls, and secure remote access.
• Perform daily monitoring and incident response to ensure availability and performance.
• Implement infrastructure changes and upgrades in line with change management processes.
• Automate repeatable tasks using scripting (Python, Golang) or frameworks.
• Partner with InfoSec, IT, and Cloud teams to deliver secure, integrated solutions.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in on-call rotation/escalation for critical incidents.
• Support connectivity and security in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Stay current with emerging networking and security technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking (routing, switching, VPNs).
• 3+ years working with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama.
• Strong knowledge of network security standards, compliance, and best practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Coding skills in Python or Golang, with an automation-first approach.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (others like OSCP a plus).

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of IAM and Zero Trust frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI-driven networking and security tools.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment or penetration testing tools.
