About the role

The Chronosphere Telemetry Pipeline product enables our customers to emit, augment, filter, route, and transform the flood of observability and SIEM data generated by their ever expanding applications and systems, allowing them to to sanely organize and easily access that data. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has worked on large scale distributed systems, has experience working with C/C++, has a proven track record of solving complex technical problems, and is looking to work on a product development team to help grow the business.

You Will

  • Design, implement, and test improvements to our core product capabilities, including the core capabilities in the product that rely on Fluent Bit 

  • Own and deliver complex features that solve customer pain points and collaborate with cross functional partners during this process

  • Level up the reliability and software quality practices within the team 

  • Contribute features back to the Fluent Bit OSS community

  • Partner with other product engineering teams on cross team initiatives aligned to our company goals

What you will achieve

  • In the first 3 months, you will build a deep understanding of Chronosphere’s Telemetry Pipelines product and learn about the domain, our customer’s needs, the underlying technology and how we deliver changes. You will start to contribute changes to our product in a manner that enables you to learn quickly. You will build relationships by working closely with your team.

  • After 3 months, you will own complex features on our roadmap from scoping all the way to delivery to production. You will partner with product, design and other engineers, as need be, to deliver these projects. You will start to build relationships with sister teams, like our Fluent Bit OSS team and other engineers in the organization. You will contribute to upholding and improving best practices on the team.

You have

  • Strong skills in system level languages (e.g. Go, C++, Java, C#, Rust). Past experience working in C and/or C++ is required.

  • The ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery (i.e. plan and gather requirements, collaborate with Product)

  • A proven track record in designing, developing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting high-performance distributed systems at scale, with a focus on optimal resource utilization, reliability, and customer experience

  • An excitement for working on a product engineering team building and further our product development that creates tangible and direct customer value

  • A passion for growing and up-leveling your peers, and have pre-existing mentoring experience and a nuanced view around how to help junior engineers grow

  • A flexible, collaborative working style. We’re a small team working in a rapidly evolving space, and we’re looking for people that will help build a positive, supportive environment
