As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing innovative mechanical and electromechanical solutions that help shape the future of our gaming products.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and production equipment using SolidWorks.

  • Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering documentation.

  • Develop sheet metal, machined, fabricated, and plastic components for production applications.

  • Support products throughout the full lifecycle, from concept and development through to production launch and ongoing support.

  • Manage engineering data and change control activities within Agile PLM, ensuring accurate configuration management.

  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and implement design improvements.

  • Conduct engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, design reviews, and validation activities.

  • Work with suppliers and sourcing teams to deliver cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

  • Investigate product and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, reliability, efficiency, manufacturability, and cost reduction.

  • Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, customer requirements, and internal engineering processes.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Strong SolidWorks capability, including part modelling, assemblies, manufacturing drawings, and BOM management.

  • Experience designing tooling, fixtures, jigs, production equipment, and complex mechanical assemblies.

  • Practical knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, machining processes, assembly techniques, and Design for Manufacture principles.

  • Familiarity with Agile PLM or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.

  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerancing, and GD&T.

  • Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and deliver practical engineering solutions.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on quality, continuous improvement, and delivering results.

Desirable

  • Experience with Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA).

  • FEA or simulation experience.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • Experience managing Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

  • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers.

  • Project management or technical leadership experience.

Qualifications

Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

This role is based at our Chadderton office and follows a 4-day-per-week onsite working model. We believe that regular in-person collaboration helps drive innovation, strengthens teamwork, and enables our engineers to create the exceptional products we're known for.
