About the role:

Reporting to the Head of Market Intelligence, you’ll play a strategic leadership role in shaping the analysis and frameworks that drive both our internally developed games and third-party initiatives. Your work will provide the foundation for critical decisions at the portfolio and game level, helping Fortis identify, validate, and execute on growth opportunities in a competitive market. This includes leading cross-functional partnerships, creating scalable market intelligence processes, and delivering insights that influence high-stakes decisions across publishing, finance, and game teams.

What you will achieve:

  • Build analysis feeding market validation frameworks that provide crucial early-stage data on the market viability of our game ideas.
  • Design and oversee comprehensive market intelligence workbooks for both first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) games, encompassing macro-level trends, competitive analysis, and financial forecasts.
  • Partner with teams specializing in User Acquisition Testing, User Research/Playtesting, and Market Intelligence to inform and enhance market validation frameworks.
  • Build out templates for market intelligence that keep leadership informed of market trends.
  • Lead the creation of financial forecasts and models for key projects integrating data from UA modeling, market dynamics, and audience sizing.
  • Be responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights that inform business strategy and decision-making.
  • Lead partnerships with data intelligence providers.
  • Collaborate with publishing, product, and finance teams to identify and address gaps in data sets and insights, ensuring Fortis remains agile in its decision-making.
  • Drive thought leadership in portfolio strategy by connecting market insights with revenue opportunities and risks, providing clarity on seasonality, audience dynamics, and game-launch timing.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • A willingness to experiment and devise novel methods for exploring potential data gathering techniques.
  • A strong grasp of validation best practices (spanning user acquisition, user testing, and market intelligence) and a history in performance marketing.
  • The ability to communicate your findings in a manner that informs and persuades teams. An aptitude for understanding and articulating the subtleties of ambiguous findings is crucial.
  • The ability to absorb feedback from product teams and gauge its relevance to validation and assessment techniques.
  • Advanced expertise in financial modeling, macro-to-micro data synthesis, and integrating insights into actionable portfolio strategies.
  • A strong understanding of distribution, marketing, community, and product, as well as their interconnected roles in driving game success.
  • Demonstrated leadership in creating scalable systems and frameworks for market intelligence, including partnerships with cross-functional leaders in publishing, finance, and product teams.
  • A dedication to honesty and clarity in your findings, irrespective of the consequences, is imperative.
  • As a leader, bring an enthusiasm for guiding, mentoring, and elevating team members to achieve their best.
  • A track record of delivering insights that drive strategic outcomes in a fast-moving and competitive environment, particularly in mobile gaming.
