Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

The Project Manager will perform the following duties:

  • Manage a single or a portfolio of Projects for the Marine Defence Business business unit concerned, to ensure that contractual obligations are met on time and to budget.
  • Help to build a strong and effective Customer relationship achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and serving as a basis for repeat business.
  • Support the team to deliver the project objectives in a structured and efficient manner.
  • Interface with GE Vernova's participating units and external suppliers as needed.
  • Managing the commercial, technical and quality issues on the project.
  • Creating, maintaining and driving progress against a project schedule.
  • Ensure timely and accurate Customer billing and on time cash collection.
  • Ensuring compliance with GE Vernova Commercial Procedures at all times.
  • Registering, compiling, submitting and negotiating extensions of time, extras to contract and other claims as appropriate
  • Supporting project reviews to control projects, check progress, manage cost, identify deviations from plan, detect risk and forecast future performance

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Background in Project Management or Engineering with relevant HND/HNC/degree-level qualification or equivalent.

  • A willingness and desire to develop a career in Project Management.

  • An ability to understand and update project schedules.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • Must be willing and able to travel when required, for example to customer, supplier or job site locations.

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience of interfacing with internal and external customers and suppliers.

  • Exposure to commercial aspects of projects with an understanding of project finances, control of billing, costs and internal trading.

  • An awareness of how risks are managed

  • Experience with SAP.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Important: Higher levels of UK Security Clearance, including “SC Clearance” and “UK Eyes Only Clearance”, are required for this role.  The candidate must have existing clearance, or the ability to obtain clearance.  This will require British citizenship with a valid British passport and no dual nationality.
