At The Coca-Cola Company, we operate in nearly every country in the world and are focused on leveraging our growth strategy to drive bottom-line profitability and maximize returns, while continuing to invest for growth through resource allocation, margin expansion, and asset optimization – ultimately leading to strong cash flow generation. In this role you’ll be part of the Global Venture’s tax team and focus on the UK tax compliance and reporting obligations of the Costa Coffee and innocent businesses. You’ll collaborate both within and outside the tax department to ensure we understand our internal business processes and how to apply tax law in the most effective and efficient manner.  The successful candidate can demonstrate strong corporate tax technical knowledge, communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to contribute in a dynamic, inclusive team environment while maintaining accountability for individual performance objectives and goals.  

 

What you’ll do for us:  

  • Assist with the preparation of UK corporate tax returns for the UK companies including working with the appointed advisor of capital allowances and R&D claims. 

  • Preparation of tax disclosures for the UK statutory accounts 

  • Day to day management of the relationship with overseas advisors to ensure the provision of overseas tax compliance deliverables and leading the transition to a single provider 

  • Supporting on employment tax filings including PSA, Taxed Award Scheme and Short Term Business Visitors 

  • Monitoring and tracking Costa Coffee’s lease portfolio and completing the submission of supplementary land tax returns where required 

  • Reporting to Coca Cola with Costa Coffee’s / innocent’s information to assist with the US CbCR filing, ETR management and completion of the US federal return. 

  • Support with tax governance including SAO, CCO, Uncertain Tax provisions and DAC6 

  • Liaising with the business, HMRC and franchise partners to ensure residency certificates are in place to minimize the amount of withholding tax suffered 

  • Ability to get involved and support with transfer pricing analysis, documentation and calculations 

  • Ability to get involved in adhoc projects working with finance, legal and HR teams across both Costa Coffee and innocent 

 

Qualifications and Requirements:  

  • ACA and / or CTA qualification 

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax concepts and their application to large, multinational corporations     

  • Strong computer systems and technology skills (experience with Alphatax and Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an advantage but not essential) 

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated hands on approach 

  • Ability to identify process improvements and coordinate with other internal stakeholders to facilitate streamlining and automation. 

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills 

  • Must be a solid team player and demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment across functional areas.
