Simtra BioPharma Solutions (Simtra) is a world-class Contract Development Manufacturing Organization, partnering with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to bring their sterile injectable products to market. With facilities in Bloomington, Indiana, US and Halle/Westfalen, Germany, we offer a wide range of delivery systems including pre-filled syringes, liquid/lyophilized vials, diluents for reconstitution, powder-filled vials and sterile crystallization. 

Our product types include biologics and small molecules, cytotoxics, highly potent compounds, diluents for reconstitution and vaccines – which are all directly injected into patients worldwide.  As such, there is a strong emphasis on quality and continuous improvement at Simtra.  We hold ourselves to the highest quality and regulatory standards.

While our primary focus is cGMP manufacturing, we offer many support services including formulation and development, lyophilization optimization, global regulatory support and secondary packaging.  Our teams are driven to help clients scale, innovate and bring life-changing medicines to patients worldwide.

At our plants in Halle/Westphalia and Bloomington/Indiana, we produce drugs for the treatment of various cancers and other life-threatening diseases. 

In the role as a Manager (m/f/x) Business Development, your overall focus is on sales of Clinical and Development Opportunities. You will identify and implement new sales strategies and build strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

In your new role, you will be empowered to:

  • Prospecting for new leads, implementing cold campaigns to reach target opportunities with potential new customers, and working directly with the Business Development Executive team to create outbound prospecting processes
  • Planning, directing and controlling sales and business activities for assigned customers in close collaboration with management
  • Negotiating contracts for contract manufacturing and clinical development, formulation and packaging services
  • Maintaining and building long-term customer relationships
  • Presenting business proposals from development to commercial production, including opportunities to strategically bundle our services
  • Identifying new business opportunities, markets, customer needs and trends
  • Attending trade fairs, conferences and seminars to increase awareness of our broader capabilities and as a source of lead generation
  • Exciting project work in close cooperation with Marketing and Research and Development, particularly in the area of market research and sales promotion
  • Take a procative role as technical, customer-oriented interface between the customer and Simtra´s Commercial to create an optimal customer experience

What you'll bring:

  • Successfully completed studies in the field of chemistry, industrial engineering or a similar degree in natural sciences
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in business development, sales or a comparable position 
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology or healthcare, preferrable in Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADC) or contract manufacturing verticals
  • Process Development/Commercial manufacturing experience in the sterile injectable field is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of initiative, self-organization and hands-on mentality
  • Business fluent in English
  • 30%-50% Travel is required
