Manager, AWS Solution Engineer

ROLE SUMMARY
At the heart of Pfizer's Digital Hosting and Application Development strategy sits the Cloud and Network Security Services (CNSS) organization. We enable all manner of digital infrastructure and cloud development capabilities, with services that span across business lines, influencing Pfizer's business outcomes and contributing to our mission of delivering value to patients and shareholders globally.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced AWS Solution Engineer with a strong foundation in AWS cloud technologies and a focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). This role provides an exciting opportunity to influence Pfizer's cloud infrastructure strategy, helping deliver scalable, secure and cost-effective solutions across multiple business units.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As the AWS Solution Engineer, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of Pfizer's cloud infrastructure. You will lead the deployment and management of AWS cloud solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable and aligned with Pfizer's security best practices.
Responsibilities include:

• Work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of engineers, developers, and product specialists, contributing to the creation of secure, compliant and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions for Pfizer.
• Design, develop and maintain IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for managing and automating cloud infrastructure within AWS.
• Establish and enforce best practices for IaC, including code reviews, documentation, and testing to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to other team members, sharing knowledge and expertise on cloud infrastructure and IaC best practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a focus on AWS.
• Demonstrated experience with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and DevOps methodologies.
• Proficiency in at least one programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes, such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues and provide clear and actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar certifications.
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud infrastructure.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals
• Prior experience in mentoring and leading teams within a cloud infrastructure engineering context.
