Join our Finance team as a Management Accountant and play a key role in driving financial insight and performance. In this role, you’ll deliver accurate and timely financial information to help support informed business decisions.
Working closely with the wider Finance team and operational stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, cost control and performance reporting. You’ll help maintain financial integrity while supporting operational teams and contributing to improvements in profitability and efficiency across the organisation.
This role would suit someone with cost accounting knowledge who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, takes initiative, and looks for ways to improve processes. It’s a great opportunity to further develop your career within a supportive Finance business partnering team.
The role will be based in our Manchester office with a hybrid approach, combining office and home working.
What you will do
Prepare monthly management accounts, including supporting schedules, prepayments, accruals, journals, and general ledger reconciliations; investigate and resolve any anomalies.
Deliver accurate financial reports within agreed deadlines and provide clear, meaningful insight to support the reporting process.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, and provide variance analysis against budget and forecast.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing required documentation and explanations.
Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Devoted to the FCA principle of Consumer Duty, by ensuring we are driving good customer outcomes across all aspects of services that have potential to impact our customers.
What we’re looking for
Currently studying towards a professional finance qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) and motivated to develop a long-term career in Finance.
Experience in cost accounting or a similar finance role is desirable.
Advanced user of MS Excel with a good working knowledge of financial accounting systems.
Strong attention to detail and naturally inquisitive, with a problem-solving mindset.
Able to work on your own initiative while managing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Resilient, proactive, and able to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
Enthusiastic about learning, developing, and contributing to a collaborative Finance team.
