Salary: £42,000 - £50,000

We are looking for a Management Accountant to join our friendly finance team (currently 13 members), as we continue to scale and develop our reporting and analysis capability.
This is a newly created role introduced to support the team as the business grows. You’ll be working closely alongside another Management Accountant to share responsibilities, drive improvements, and help deliver high-quality insights across the business. Over time, responsibilities will expand and adapt in line with our evolving finance structure, with the opportunity to take on leadership responsibility within the function.

As a fully qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA professional with 3+ years’ post qualified experience you will be a key part of our team. We're looking for someone with commercial curiosity who is keen to learn our business and work confidently in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. 
You will report to the Financial Controller. 
Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of the monthly management accounts pack, including performing analysis of variance against budgets and production of management reports.
  • Drive improvements in monthly reporting and analysis, providing insight to allow the business to make informed strategical and operational decisions.
  • Preparing and inputting ledger journals, ensuring the accuracy of reported income and expenditure.
  • Produce monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the Assistant Accountant with monthly reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts and resolution of queries arising.
  • Support the Assistant Accountant with preparation of monthly payroll, ensuring pension contributions and PAYE are settled on time.
  • Prepare Quarterly VAT returns.
  • Provide validation and analysis of our cost of sales across our portfolio of accounts.
  • Preparation of annual accounts and supporting working papers and using this data to respond to enquiries from external auditors as part of the year end audit process.
  • Oversight of daily bank and cash records on Sage ensuring Finance Assistants are accurately allocating bank transactions to ledger accounts.
  • Provide support to Finance Assistants and Assistant Accountant and providing cover during times of absence.
  • Providing transaction processing and financial analysis support to the finance team
  • Support Financial Controller and Finance Director in any ad-hoc tasks as required.

Skills and experience:

  • 3+ years post qualified experience ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
  • Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts and improving processes.
  • Willing to mentor and support more junior finance colleagues.
  • An excellent communicator who is passionate about what you do.
  • Excel savvy with the ability to manipulate and analyse large volumes of data.
  • Salesforce and Sage Intacct experience would be beneficial but not essential.
