About Finance at THG

About the Role
The Group is a listed business with increasing corporate governance and accounting requirements worldwide. You will be reporting into the Group Financial Reporting Director and support across our financial reporting and Group finance function.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing and analysing key cost lines for our trading divisions, which have an annual spend of over £500 million. This position requires excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to challenge and drive efficiencies across the cost base.
Responsibilities:
- Management Accounting: Oversee and manage key cost lines for our trading divisions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for various internal stakeholders within each division, as well as external suppliers.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Review: Review and challenge the AP/AR teams to ensure payments are made in accordance with terms.
- Analysis and Reporting: Provide detailed analysis and reporting to the related party committee, offering insights and recommendations.
- Cost Management: Challenge costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings within the organisation.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant – Newly qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) – ideal for a first time mover from practice,
- Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in management accounting, preferably within a trading or similar high-spend environment.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Proactive Attitude: A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IT Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and accounting systems
