Job Description
Citadel is seeking a top industry technical expert to grow our team dedicated to expanding our Compute platform to our customers. We are seeking a talented engineer skilled in the art of integration who understands the Agile mindset and DevOps philosophies yet is not constrained by how "things are usually done" and is willing to decompose and reinvent systems, processes, and tools. We're looking for a technical expert for one of the largest compute services at Citadel; if you possess that rare mix of depth in Operations, Networking, and Systems Engineering then we are waiting for your application.
Key Responsibility:

  • Investigating new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex compute issues for our customers.
  • Raising the bar on performance through hardware and OS tuning.
  • Developing tooling to automate tasks and implement/scale/test infrastructure services.
  • Building and maintaining systems following infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Investigating system variances about to affect major services worldwide and solving them proactively before impacting customers.
  • Diving deep into system and service interdependencies and configurations to find the root of a problem.
  • Studying and learning from industry-recognized principal and distinguished engineers.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with architecture, implementation and operation of a Linux-based compute environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Linux Environments (RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu).
  • Automation of build, test, and release of Linux images.
  • Deep experience in performing system performance analysis and tuning.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong development experience in Python or Go.
  • Experience developing APIs.
  • Experience with infrastructure provisioning/management tools (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Terraform Packer).
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN).
  • Experience in use of virtualization/VMWare for compute infrastructure.


In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is $105,000 to $300,000.
In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive compensation program,
as well as a wide array of benefit programs, such as medical and life insurance, retirement and tax-free savings plans,
and access to other healthcare programs.
