Do you have extensive experience with insurance price comparison data and proficiency in T-SQL? Are you skilled in data analysis and adept at delivering insights to non-technical stakeholders? If so, we are seeking a talented individual just like you to join our team and contribute to our data-driven decision-making processes.

We’re looking for a Lead Price Comparison Data Analyst to join our Commercial & Marketing team either working remotely or based in our Salford Quays, Manchester or Haywards Heath, West Sussex offices. 

In this role you’ll be responsible for turning complex data from price comparison websites into clear, compelling insights and actionable stories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, pricing, digital, product, and trading, playing a key part in driving performance, optimising customer interactions, and maximising growth.

You’ll bridge the gap between raw data and strategic decision-making, translating trends, patterns, and opportunities into insights that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Extensive experience with insurance price comparison data
  • Proficiency in T-SQL
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Ability to deliver insights to non-technical stakeholders

What’s involved:

  • Responsible for analysing, optimising and transforming price comparison data into clear, engaging narratives that supports new and existing initiatives
  • Support the Retail Pricing team to understand and optimise price comparison data to enhance pricing models and related projects. Capture requirements, understand data pipelines which support our retail pricing function and enable key price comparison data to be tested, optimised and used in the most efficient way
  • Support analytics developers with understanding customer behaviour through analysis of price comparison data, enabling reports to be developed which illustrate insights clearly and concisely
  • Help develop and support the PCW data roadmap while tracking benefits / uplift from the price comparison data roadmap across the Commercial and Marketing pillar at First Central
  • Review and provide commercial benefit analysis of any new price comparison data for the Commercial and Marketing Pillar, and support central data teams with ingestion and testing
  • Present data findings and insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, driving awareness of customer trends and recommending actionable changes to business strategies
  • Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times
  • Ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times
  • Participate in annual staff appraisal, staff development and in-service training activities in line with the Commercial Data Competency Framework
  • Any other reasonable duties
     

Experience & knowledge

  • Extensive experience working in data analysis or data storytelling roles, analysing motor or home insurance price comparison data
  • Extensive experience coding T-SQL and manipulating large datasets
  • Experience in SAS, PowerBI, Python and WTW Radar/Emblem advantageous

Skills & qualifications

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to create, clearly structure and maintain documentation of projects
  • Ability to decompose complex data into compelling narratives and business insights
  • Passion for analysing and transforming data which allows users to solve business problems
  • Understanding of a service-based approach in delivering assets for use by other teams
  • Ability to influence and support stakeholders, and confidently manage expectations in a dynamic environment
  • Appreciation of importance of attention to detail
