Laboratory Engineer - Electrical and Mechanical Testing

Join our team as the new Laboratory Engineer, drive the growth of our organization and deliver real change - in a changing world! In this role, you will be reporting to our Laboratory Manager who has been with UL Solutions for 18 years!
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests.
• Performs tests using general laboratory equipment.
• Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
• Operates computer terminal to extract/input readily available information and to use available software.
• As directed, follows defined test plans and datasheets. Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. Records and explains test results.
• Reads and interprets results of tests. Prepares charts, graphs and reports to explain test results.
• Examines test samples, reads measuring instruments and reviews test data with supervisor. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams and operational instructions.
• As instructed, examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case.
• Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory technician staff. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
• Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Technical High School or Bachelor's degree (preferably: Electrical field).
• Around 1-3 years of working experience in the same type of role would be preferred.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite is a must.
• Effective communication skills and ability to interact with customers.
• Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to incorporate automation into day-to-day testing.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation.
• Overall knowledge about batteries will be additional benefit.
