Head Of Performance Optimisation

Department: JD DigitalLocation: Head Office (Bury, Manchester)Hours: Permanent, Full time 40hrs per week.Role Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to join our ever growing digital marketing team. This role sits across the JD Sports UK, EMEA & APAC teams and oversees all digital performance channels to achieve sales and traffic objectives within the specified budget and CPA targets.

As Head of Performance Optimisation, you will collaborate closely with our Marketing Effectiveness teams to implement data-driven strategies across all Performance Marketing Channels.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to come in and develop their own skills whilst also sharing their knowledge with the existing team

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the heads of performance marketing channels and Digital Trading teams to devise and deliver strategies for driving traffic and efficient sales growth across the digital channel mix by device type.
  • Support Digital Performance Marketing channels including, paid media, affiliates and SEO that meet growth objectives and cost targets.
  • Support the execution of marketing effectiveness strategies across all channels and full-funnel campaign activations.
  • Continuously track and monitor performance, utilising data to ensure all channels are fully optimised, and measure activities against weekly, monthly, and annual targets.
  • Adapt a robust test and learn approach to ensure the continual growth of performance marketing channels.
  • Budget management - define optimal budget deployment by channel against objective.
  • Reporting - provide actionable learnings and optimising accordingly.
  • Engaging with all parts of the business to understand key drivers and priorities and the impact upon the development of digital channels.
  • Keep up to date with latest industry trends.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • Development and execution of innovative multi-channel marketing campaigns with the focus on increasing customer acquisition and retention.
  • Experience in digital performance channels e.g. search, paid social and affiliates would be desirable.
  • Ability to work within and adapt to an environment which experiences frequent change with an open, flexible and supportive approach to change and innovation.
  • Ability to identify weaknesses and opportunities, and implement strategies to optimise performance.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with a drive to achieve sales objectives and KPIs, and ability to control budgets and comfortable working under time and volume pressures
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter with energy and drive in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Capable team member and participant, able to solve problems individually or in groups and committed to personal development.
  • Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail and an ability to plan, to prioritise and to escalate where necessary.
  • Experience of using relevant software packages & platforms, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Power Point, GA4, Adwords, Meta.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience of sharing information effectively, in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Experience of planning and prioritising your own time effectively, aware of your responsibilities and committed to delivering these efficiently.
  • Team management experience, ability to manage, delegate and support teams with varied skill sets in multiple disciplines.
