Job Description

The Group Product Manager is accountable for leading the Membr product management team across the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, while also remaining close to the most important product problems. This role leads and develops Product Managers across a distributed portfolio, creating clarity, focus, and momentum behind a compelling product vision for gym software customers.

Working closely with the VP of Product & Engineering, the Group Product Manager translates strategic direction into clear priorities, operating rhythms, and measurable customer outcomes. The role balances people leadership with hands-on product leadership across enterprise customers, including Anytime Fitness and JD Gyms, and a strong SMB customer base across AU/NZ/UK.

This role is also a key driver of product team culture and AI Transformation. The Group Product Manager will help modernise product practices for an AI-enabled operating environment, strengthen decision-making, and build the confidence, energy, and accountability needed for the team to do its best work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Product Managers across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, fostering high performance, accountability, engagement, and professional growth.

  • Shape and communicate a focused Membr product vision that gives teams clear direction and helps them rally behind shared customer and commercial outcomes.

  • Partner with the VP of Product & Engineering to translate strategic direction into clear, actionable roadmaps and priorities, and personally lead the highest-impact initiatives where direct product leadership is required.

  • Drive discovery, prioritisation, roadmap definition, and delivery outcomes for complex product problems, balancing enterprise depth with SMB customer needs.

  • Partner directly with enterprise customers, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders to validate opportunities, shape investment decisions, and translate customer needs into product strategy.

  • Lead AI Transformation within the product function by modernising outdated processes, improving discovery and prioritisation practices, and helping teams use AI responsibly to lift productivity and insight quality.

  • Manage prioritisation, planning, risks, and dependencies across product areas, ensuring delivery is transparent, outcome-focused, and aligned to strategic priorities.

  • Strengthen collaboration between Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, and Commercial teams to ensure coordinated delivery and effective go-to-market execution.

  • Coach Product Managers in product craft, commercial judgement, stakeholder management, discovery, delivery discipline, and AI-enabled ways of working, while modelling strong hands-on product practice.

  • Contribute to talent planning and hiring to grow and scale the product management capability within the Fitness & Wellness vertical.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of goals across the Membr product lines.

  • Portfolio-level delivery against roadmap, investment priorities, and customer outcome goals.

  • Customer metrics across enterprise and SMB segments: adoption, satisfaction, retention, NPS, and product usage health.

  • Commercial contribution of product, including ARR, revenue growth, churn reduction, expansion, and customer value creation.

  • Operational maturity of the product function, including cadence, quality, metrics, decision velocity, and AI-enabled process improvement.

  • Team engagement, capability uplift, leadership succession, and evidence of improved clarity, confidence, and momentum.

Core Capabilities

  • Player-coach product leadership: balances people leadership with direct ownership of product strategy, discovery, prioritisation, roadmap definition, and delivery outcomes.

  • Execution excellence: creates clarity of priorities, accountability, and predictable delivery across multiple workstreams without losing connection to execution detail.

  • AI Transformation: understands how AI can modernise product practices, improve team workflows, accelerate insight generation, and support better decision-making.

  • Cross-functional collaboration: drives strong alignment between Product, Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, and Commercial teams.

  • Stakeholder management: communicates clearly and credibly with senior leaders, enterprise customers, commercial partners, and cross-functional peers.

  • Commercial awareness: understands customer needs, market dynamics, and how product delivery supports revenue, retention, expansion, and customer value.

  • Technical fluency: works effectively with engineering teams and understands product architecture fundamentals, platform trade-offs, and delivery constraints.

  • Adaptability: leads through change, managing competing priorities and ambiguity with composure, focus, and a bias toward practical progress.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or related leadership roles within technology or SaaS companies.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing Product Managers or product teams, while also directly owning complex product strategy, discovery, prioritisation, and roadmap work.

  • Proven ability to deliver complex product roadmaps in collaboration with engineering, design, customer success, sales, and commercial stakeholders.

  • Strong grounding in product discovery, delivery practices, prioritisation, outcome measurement, and operational excellence.

  • Experience applying AI tools or AI-enabled practices to improve product management workflows, discovery, analysis, delivery, or decision-making.

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile delivery methodologies.

  • Experience working in B2B SaaS environments; exposure to fitness, wellness, payments, franchise, or multi-location customer models preferred.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills.

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, technology, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Experience leading through organisational change or scale-up environments advantageous.
