Who are we?

Howden is a global insurance group with employee ownership at its heart. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 23,000 employees spanning over 56 countries.

People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

We are looking for an FP&A Analyst to join our team and support the next phase of growth of the business. You will play a critical role in providing strategic insight and analysis that drive decision making across the organisation, whilst also supporting finance transformation activities to enhance capabilities within the function including implementation of new finance systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and enjoys delivering transformation with tangible benefit. You will work closely with divisional FP&A leads and senior stakeholders to develop reporting and analytics capability, provide insight on performance drivers, enhance budget and reforecast processes and shape our financial strategy.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, be comfortable managing multiple priorities, have strong stakeholder management skills, and have excellent communication and business partnering skills.

What will you be doing?

  • Perform financial analysis to understand performance drivers and support senior stakeholders in strategic decision making.

  • Support implementation of new EPM platform for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.

  • Lead initiatives around process improvement, automation and AI within finance.

  • Establish performance metrics and support development of reporting dashboards.

  • Partner with divisional FP&A teams to standardise processes across the group.

  • Support annual budget and reforecast cycle.

  • Support investment appraisal and capital allocation, including financial modelling and scenario analysis.

What are we looking for?

  • Strong academic background with prior FP&A experience or similar relevant experience within professional services (e.g. audit, transaction services, finance change).

  • ACA, CIMA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualified or part qualified.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements and ability to understand drivers of business performance.

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Experience working with finance systems, reporting cubes and financial planning tools.

  • Keen attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets, with strong understanding of data analytics and visualisation.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs.  Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.
