As the Group Financial Controller, you will oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, facilitate budgeting and forecasting processes, and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Requirements

The ideal candidate for the Group Financial Controller position will have a solid background in finance and accounting, with the following key responsibilities:

Group Reporting & Consolidation:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end consolidation process for both management accounts and statutory financial statements for all global entities.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Drive continuous improvement in consolidation processes, systems, and controls.
  • Take full responsibility for the accurate accounting and financial management of all Head Office entities.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, managing the annual group audit process and ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently.
  • Oversee internal control frameworks, ensuring robust financial controls are in place and adhered to across the group.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and statutory requirements globally.

Tax & Transfer Pricing:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of group corporate tax compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the group's transfer pricing policies and documentation, ensuring compliance with international tax regulations.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders on tax planning and optimisation initiatives.

Treasury and Covenants:

  • Own the quarterly covenants submission to the external lenders and ensure full compliance will all aspects of the Group’s external debt Facilities Agreement
  • Manage banking relationships, cash pooling, and ensuring efficient treasury operations.
  • Oversee and enhance the group-wide cash forecasting process, providing accurate and timely insights into liquidity and working capital management.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Integration:

  • Play a role in the financial due diligence and integration of acquired businesses, ensuring seamless financial onboarding and reporting alignment.
  • Lead the accounting for business combinations and purchase price allocation.
  • Develop and implement financial integration plans post-acquisition.

Systems & Process Management:

  • Own the management, optimisation, and integrity of the NetSuite ERP and Prophix consolidation tools across the group.
  • Drive system enhancements and automation initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
  • Ensure data quality and consistency within NetSuite and other financial systems.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of the financial control team, ensuring efficient workflow and task allocation.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to direct reports and the wider finance function.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Professional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience and exceptional IFRS technical accounting knowledge.
  • Senior Experience: Proven experience in a senior financial control role within a complex, multi-entity, global organisation.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrable experience in leading, managing, and developing a finance team.
  • Audit & Tax: Strong experience in managing audits of international groups and comprehensive knowledge of corporate tax and transfer pricing principles.
  • Consolidation Mastery: In-depth, hands-on experience leading and managing complex group consolidations (both management and statutory) - including FX elements.
  • M&A Expertise: Demonstrable experience of the financial aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, integration, and purchase accounting.
  • Global Business Exposure: Extensive experience working within a global business, understanding the complexities of international operations, currencies, and diverse regulatory environments.
  • System Proficiency: Advanced ERP user (NetSuite preferred), with experience in system administration, configuration, and optimisation.

Desirable:

  • Cash Management: Proven experience in cash forecasting, treasury operations, and banking administration.
  • Private Equity Experience: Experience working in or with private equity-backed businesses, understanding the specific reporting demands, financial controls, and value creation drivers in such environments.
