About the position
- As our Graduate Sales Applications Engineer you will be part of the power group responsible for responding to customer enquiries requesting equipment by selecting appropriate products to apply, determining size and cost, and advising the customer. You will takes all necessary actions deemed appropriate to develop enquiries into orders.
Key responsibilities
- Analyses and interprets customer enquiries to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application – experience of valve sizing and selection as well as other process instrumentation such as flow meters would be a benefit.
- Develops cost estimate according to established guidelines by self and by the sales manager.
- Sets product pricing using mark-up and commission schedules established by management.
- Writes, edits, and signs formal quotation.
- Follows up on any written or verbal correspondence with customer during quotation phase.
- Travels to customers' facilities to discuss and negotiate proposals and solutions.
- Determines drawings needed for quotation and coordinates their completion.
- Travels to customer's facilities to trouble-shoot equipment problems.
- Provides the projects team with clear handover packs once an order is received and supports the project team as required through the project lifecycle.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned that are based on appropriate skills and experience.
What kind of person are we looking for?
- Educated to Degree level (Engineering degree preferred)
- Must be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Familiarity with AutoCAD would be a benefit.
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent communicator – verbal and written
- Natural negotiation skills to be able to negotiate with suppliers as well as customers
- Full UK Driving Licence, and live within 1hr travel of Zeeco Europe Head office (PE9 4AQ)
- Will to travel
