Goods In Operator

Do you hold a forklift truck licence? Do you have experience of working on a busy integrated distribution centre? Are you able to work shifts? If so, our Logistics operator role at our Ashton-in-Makerfield site may be just the opportunity you are looking for.

About the Role

Reporting into the Logistics Team Leader you will work to support Essity’s overseas customers by transferring finished goods products onto heat treated pallets to comply with European standards. Day to day you will be ensuring compliance with corporate or legislative requirements, including Health and Safety and quality controls, and maintain housekeeping standards at all times and standards are maintained at all times. 

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Thursday 7am till 3pm and Friday 7am till 2pm.

What will you do

Day to day you will transfer finished goods using a pallet inverter from UK type pallet to European heat-treated pallet

Work to ensure customer orders are dispatched in line with the timescales

Correctly place the re-worked pallets into the marshalling bays in drop sequence

Load and unload vehicles with empty pallets, ensuring the safety of all within the unloading areas

Who You Are

  • FLT licence (essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels
  • Able to carry out manual work for example pallets lifting and hand wrapping (essential)
  • Logistics background (desirable)
  • Previous experience of Radio Frequency equipment and a live environment WMS (desirable)
  • NVQ in warehouse and logistics (desirable)
