JOB DESCRIPTION
As more people have to deal with extreme weather, we're on hand to test products and building materials to increasingly rigorous standards. Whether we're simulating tornadoes or testing smoke alarms, the work we do on our team is used in buildings around the world to - quite literally - help save lives!
Join our Laboratory Team to assists them in carrying out preparation, assembly and disassembling of test chamber rigs.
We provide in-house and external training opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Build your skills, build innovative solutions and help us build a safer world.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Building and/or adapting setup of test chambers for new test samples in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with fabrication and steelwork installation.
  • Examines test chambers/samples, reads 2D Auto CAD drawings and measuring instruments.
  • Operates designated machines, special laboratory equipment and tools as directed.
  • Performs routine maintenance of designated test equipment and work area.
  • Manual/physical work in an outdoor environment, which also includes working at height.
  • Works in accordance with internal processes, testing standards, H&S, ISO 17025 and UL procedures.
  • Receives instructions from and reports to supervisor and personnel in laboratory operations as needed.
  • Liaise with suppliers & customers if required.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A hands-on physical approach with some knowledge and experience in the use of construction materials and equipment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal team and to work on own initiative as well as part of the team.
  • Very good attention to detail.
  • The desire and motivation to learn and develop new and existing skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical information and understanding technical plans and drawings would be beneficial.

Preferred but not required:
  • CSCS card.
  • Forklift Truck license.
  • Telehandler license.
  • IPAF license (Scissor Lift/Cherry Picker).
